Scoda octavia, electrical problem

Featured Replies

Hello,

I was driving along the motorway then all of a sudden the ping noise came on, the same noise as low diesel, all my dashboard lights came on, my headlights and indicators went off, i pulled into the services. One engine was stopped i tried to start again ,it turned over but cut out straight away.

Called for vehicle rescue, when i reached home the engine started again and drove with no lights showing.

At the garage they plugged into diagnostics and about 28 fault codes showed, when they cancelled them no more faults returned and now running fine.

Any suggestions as i dont know when its going to happen again

what car is it? engine year ....?

have you had your battery tested? sounds like it needs to be replaced (dying batteries do weird things to Octavias, mine just cut out like my belt had gone!)

Not convinced - this sounds like a battery issue - possibly dodgy cell. Just testing the voltage with no load doesn't always show the issue up.

Cheers, will replace it.

Just noticed the central locking with key fob has stopped working
