How much for a simple remap 105 -> 130ish?

Featured Replies

I'm considering getting my '08 Octavia 4x4 1.9TDI re-mapped to increase power slightly. I don't want to try and match the VRS or anything, but my previous car was an 02 Audi A4 Avant 1.9TDI with 130bhp and I'd like a roughly similar acceleration. I'm just wondering:

  • Can this be done without having a dramatic negative effect on my fuel economy?
  • Is it going to shake the engine to pieces or impact on reliability?
  • How much would a map like this cost?

Cheers!

Mine was around £110 on Ebay for a remapped ECU which has the immobiliser disabled to make it plug n play, no need to send off old unit.

My economy has improved if anything, dramatic improvement in overtaking ability.

Engine sounds more rorty under load but no vibration or harshness.

Best money I have spent because the 105 in the heavier MK2 was dissapointing compared to the 110 in my MK1.

Before overtaking took a lot of road and was anxious, now its instant.
