Parking Sensor Woes

Featured Replies

My wife's Yeti recently had a flat battery whilst she was away (left something plugged in!), she managed to get a jump start from a friendly stranger and continued her journey.

When she next reversed the parking sensors made a long beep and the bulb warning light came on.  The sensors now do not work and make the same long tone on each first use.

I bought a VCDS cable (genuine) and connected, it is showed a few historic faults.  But on the parking sensors showed the following.

Address 76: Park Assist       Labels: 5J0-919-475.clb
Control Module Part Number: 5J0 919 475 C    HW: 5J0 919 475 A

          U1121 00 [009] - Missing Message

                    Date: 2051.14.02
                    Time: 09:38:05

I cannot clear this message, as when I do it returns immediately.  I cannot find find the code in any of the lists online, probably just not looking hard enough!

Can anyone help?  How can I recover this?  Where is the parking module?  What is up with the date on the reported fault?

Thanks in advance.

I'm hoping this is what you wanted.  I have already de-selected the trailer bit, in case that was stopping the parking sensors.

so you have removed the towbar from the coding?

In the Gateway and Parking module

Eddie,

I have just looked down through the log file I attached and it does in deed also show up as address 10, could this be the problem?

How do you even learn all of this?

Thanks

Mike

Eddie,

Firstly thanks for helping me.

It was in the gateway, I'll go out and run the scan again, if that will help.

Looking at this log file, the only thing I spot is that the battery level seems to be rubbish.

I suppose the system could have shutdown the module to preserve power!

Charging the battery now, to see if that changes anything.

and you have checked the parking module coding?

the fault is due to the module looking for something that is not there

The module coding is 118006, using the coding helper that is for a Skoda Fabia.

When I try to input 118013 (Yeti) it says it is out of range!

Can the module be reset to factory and re-coded?

what about trailer installed?

Ahhh, I see that is the 11 part, changed that to 10 and tried it, parking sensors now working.

So the problem was with the towbar and I have just disabled it.  Need to connect up a trailer to find out if the lights work now.

Thanks loads for your assistance Eddie.
