MDI Not Functional

Featured Replies

So I've just bought a vRS, and the MDI doesn't work. When you select it, it just says "MDI not functional".

But the USB point still charges my phone.

Any ideas as to what is wrong with it?

What phone is it ?

Does not support Iphones.

it is an iphone, so that should be it.

Although, I've seen other people use ipods on the MDI, but it also won't work with my ipod

How is it connecting ? using a Skoda cable or ?

All VAG cars up until a few years ago used their own interface cable for Apple and USB devices.

At the time USB sockets fitted to VAG cars were only used for charging a devices and does not interface with the MMI.

Here is the one I use with my iPod.

Ahh ok, that would explain it!

Thank you both for your help

Used to connect a portable hard drive to my vRS via a suitable MDI cable and had no functionality issues at all.
