Fabia 1.0 tsi dsg Slow starting?

Featured Replies

Hello. ive been searching the internet not to much success my car 80% of the time it starts goes like ru ru ru ru starts. instead of ru start or just ru ru start? anyone with my car have the same as this i live in england so it dossn't get super cold most starts are 8c+ , i've replaced plugs/air filter and it just had its 2nd service and they said its all normal but i cant help feel im being flogged off

got a video

Try this method:-

Put the key in the ignition and turn to the live position, when all the warning lights come on.

But don't start it.

Wait until for the fuel pump to raise the fuel pressure. A couple of seconds.

Put the clutch in.

Then start the engine.

Also when you arrive somewhere let the engine idle for a while, before just turning the engine off.

No blipping of the throttle before turning the engine off.

HTH

hi its automatic dsg. and  the video is taken 30 seconds after the ignition was on, also i do let the engine sit for a second before turning off but maybe thats something to look into

My Audi did this as well it’s something electronic completely random cranked 5 instead of the normal 2. Never had any issues just odd.

The fuel pump primes when the drivers door opens when the car has been stopped / not started for a while. So before the key goes in the ignition.

Or it should do.  Listen for it.

Where someones garage or parking means they get in via the passenger door it does not prime.

My A3 was dsg not sure if it’s to do with that? My manual fabia doesn’t do it. But there is a few threads around about it but not seen any where it was “fixed” or had any issues other than the extra cranks.

mines also dsg. you know im wondering if its related to the "u need to depress clutch in a manual" maybe if i put my foot on the brake for more longer then as sooon as i crank it the dsg will be engaged quicker or something like this?

jesus christ to think im british born with how i wrote that ...

just a wonder did you also put your foot on the brake just before you cranked it and not any period of time before that?

I here no pump noise on unlocking the car or on opening the car door.

I do here a pump noise when I first turn the ignition on.

The engine is a 1.2 TSI petrol.
