Octavia VRS not starting

Featured Replies

I am having trouble with our 2012 VRS.

Battery is fine but just won’t turn over.

Fuel pump doesn’t prime either.

I have had a good search but checked fuses etc with no joy.

Any ideas?

Have you checked the starter motor?

Check it for volts?

My old fabia did have a loose connection once.

Is it easily accessible ?

Seems strange to be the starter motor if it doesn't prime when you open the drivers door as well.  A VCDS scan would be a good place to start.  Or check the starter and main fuseboard connections for good earth connections, they have been known to corrode sometimes. What volts it the battery showing?

Did you check the fuses in the engine fuse box next to the battery?

Thanks all so far.

Still no joy. Battery changed for new. Nothing

I can’t get a VCDS to connect to the car for some reason ... I’ve tried 4!! Com error every time ? Any idea?

All fuses checked in engine bay and dash.

Were they genuine cables with full VCDS or generic copies with VCDS lite?
