Servicing Questions

Featured Replies

I purchased my Fabia in Sep 16 on PCP and have decided to keep it.  The servicing schedule is currently variable but after doing a bit of reading now I'm keeping it I think I need to change it to fixed.

I do less than 8k a year, mostly local driving with motorway trips (300 miles) a couple of times.

I had the service done last year at the dealer.  My 3 years warranty is almost up so if I changed to fixed should I still use the dealer or is it ok to use an independant from now on?

Once the warranty has expired you can take the car to anywhere that is convenient for you and that you trust. That is what I intend to do with my car when it is 3 years old.

You might need a Skoda dealer to change the service indicators from variable to fixed.

Not all independants can change this.

There can be two indicators to change, servicing and inspection indicators.

Thanks for the replies but got another question now.

I've purchased the extened warranty for another 12 months so is it better to have it dealer serviced during this period?

You need it demonstrably serviced "to manufacturer standard" to maintain the extended warranty. A decent independent's invoice will be enough to demonstrate this.
