Cross threaded rear top mount

Featured Replies

Hi guys can anyone tell me when you screw the bolt into your top mount is it aluminium its screwing into ..as one bolt seems not to be catching. And if it is aluminium how do i get the hole rethreaded

It may be only the lead thread on the bolt or mount, so try another bolt or clean the thread with thread chaser or even the correct tap, as long as the thread has not been totally stripped it should be fine.

The body is steel as is the bolt.

They do sit a curious angle though so you should use a new bolt each tine each time and start by hand.
