Hello, so I think it is about time to upgrade and sell my Mk1 Octavia VRS, it has now down 351,000 miles so I have used it well.  Been looking at a 2011 VRS estate, 2.0 TFSI with DSG gearbox.  I have been warned that towing with a car with a DSG gearbox is not a good idea, I tow a twin axle trailer that is around 700KG's all in.  

Does anybody have any thoughts?

 

 

My work used to have an Audi Q7 with DSG gearbox to use as a tow vehicle towing a trailer that was in the region of 2 ton and it was a fantastic piece of kit. We had no issues with the gearbox over the 3.5 years we has the car. I would just say ensure the gearbox is serviced correctly on the car you are looking at.
