  1. Just to close out the post, had my new turbo fitted, the car runs really nice, well pleased with it. They noticed the sump is leaking very slightly at the joint between the sump and bottom of the engine. So that’s the next job.
  2. After phoning around a few independent vw/Audi repairers and being quoted £800 + vat and £960 + vat for just fitting as I had everything to do the job a friend of a friend that has a decent size garage is doing it for £400. I am happy with that, it’s there now so hopefully will have it back in a few days.
  3. Hello, my car is in need of a new turbo, can it be a diy job or is it nigh on impossible to do on the driveway at home? I am pretty competent, but looking at it the accessibility looks restricted to say the least.
  4. Yes it is an electronic piece of kit, the photo below is of the super seeded part number for the turbo, so I was told to find the actuator for that turbo. I will give that turbo vanes place a call tomorrow. Thank you for your help👍🏻
  5. This is the problem, Skoda only sell the complete turbo unit which is £1300-£1700 depending one where you go. If I could find the actuator it would be less than £200 for the part, just finding one is the issue.
  6. Hi Thank you for the reply, but it is the wastegate actuator that I am looking to replace.
  7. Hello, I have had a look through the forum but cannot see what I am looking for, I have a 2014 petrol VRS which has a wastegate issue, does not put it in limp mode in fact the epc light has been flashing on for the last 18 month plus, no loss of power. It has been to one independent that has said new turbo, quoting £2600 for the job, telling me the wastegate is jammed, my thoughts were if it was jammed shut it would go in limp mode to prevent over boost and if it was jammed open it would not boost up as well as it does. They sort of said they didn't really want a car on a ramp for 10 hours plus, so I have taken it for a second opinion. The second independent has said the wastegate moves but the actuator is faulty but from Skoda you cannot buy the part separately. My thoughts are there must be a supplier where I can get one from does anyone know of where I can get one? they said the turbo has been super seeded a few times so I need to find one to fit this part number 06K 145 874 M , although I am not adverse to having a new turbo fitted mine does work and it is an electronic part fitted to it that is the issue.
  8. Thank you very much, I must have had my eyes closed not to see that.
  9. Good Morning all, I have a 2014 Petrol VRS, the epc light is coming on, the fault code is saying N75 boost control fault, which does tie in with as soon as the turbo comes in the light appears, then resets with the ignition being switch off then on again. can anyone point me in the direction of where the valve is in the engine bay please, I have looked and can’t find it, is it accessed from underneath? thanks in advance.
  10. Right, thank you for that, the car randomly starts running badly then sorts itself ok, it went to an independent VW garage who said they though the ecu needed updating by skoda, skoda said it didn’t and the fault maybe the ecu or maybe the wiring.
  11. Can the ecu be straight swapped with another with the same part number? i.e. without any programming?
  12. My pal has a 2009 vrs petrol, the engine management light is on, she has taken it to a local VAG specialist and they said it need to go to Skoda for an update on the ecu, Skoda have told her they believe the ecu has a fault but it might be a wiring fault, before terrifying her with the costs, she has had the car from new and it has been well looked after, is there any where that the ecu could be sent to be checked out properly/repaired? or what is the score with finding a secondhand ecu and plugging that in, or would it need coding to the car? thanks for looking.
  13. Hello, I have a 2014 petrol VRS, I have had the EPC light coming on so I got it plugged in and got the codes P188900 and P256300. 188900 refers to the N82 valve, which I have changed but the fault has not gone. The other fault refers to turbocharger boost position sensor. does anybody have any thoughts where to start. ?
  14. Hello, I have looked through the posts but can’t come up with an answer. 2009 octavia Vrs front brake pad sensor plug on the car loom side has disintegrated. Does anybody know what the part number is for a replacement plug/connector? Top picture is the damaged plug bottom picture is the plug on the pad side.
  15. So I keep having this fault pop up on my screen Error Cornering LIght (afs), has the codes down loaded. And got this C108715 left dynamic afs light adjusting motor open circuit/short circuit to positive. On the guess it is the motor gone faulty, I have caked TPS and they have said there is only one motor in the headlight, so that does up and down movement and side to side. Does that sound right? Does anybody know any different?
