Mk II 1.2 2009 Acceleration problem / power loss

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting here, im not really experience at describing car problems but i hope you guess can follow me:

When changin gears it feels like the car doesnt have enough power to accelerate so it would drops revs or it would cut off the acceleration so that i would have to release the pedal and accelerate again, it happens mostly when the car is recovering for example going from 1 Gear to 2nd gear it would drop.

Firts we did was to change the throttle body since the old was making noises, since that the acceleration improved but it keep dropping revs and cutting the acceleration; after that i kept using it for a gear or so with tue same fault in the acceleration, until one day it started to not wanting to accelerate when tryn to push the pedal and it seems like the engine wants to go off.

I returned the car to the garage to check the electricity and all the modules of the car, as well as changing the spark plugs( the engine also started “jumping” when the car is kept on neutral and my mechanic said it was do to the spark plugs)  they found a couple of cables on the car ripped and there was also a fault code on the AC where when they disconnected it found that it was kinda rusty or getting heated to the point it damage the AC unit(also you couldn't turn the AC On cuz the car would start failing a lot).  I picked up the car days after and now the car is worst, it doesn't accelerate like it doesn't have power.

what im trying to find out if you are able to interpret theses symptoms, is, what would probably have a power lose on the acceleration? Ive been visiting many mechanic and cant find the issue.  Pls help.

Could it be something as simple as a choked air filter? Have you scanned for codes?

Sounds like a blocked air or fuel filter to me too.
