Strange noise sound Octavia 2.0 TDI DSG 150 HP

Featured Replies

Hi, i am the happy? Owner of an Octavia 3  2014 2.0 tdi dsg.

Currently 140k KM.

After purchase I brought the car to Pilsen Skoda ( that's in Ireland, dublin) for a health check.

They recommend a timing belt change, dsg oil change, oil change, brake fluid , auxiliary belt change due to the age of the car. I did all of that

My problem is that now I notice a strange sound coming from the engine, mainly right side. I can only hear the sound when the car has been driven for a while, I added a link for a short video, maybe someone with more experience can tell me, what that could be?

Another problem I noticed is that while I drive, when I reach about 1,500 rpm, there is a humming noise coming from the centre of the hood (??) That noise is louder at low rpm, and unnoticeable afther 2,300 rpm.

I must say that the Skoda dealership health check report did not mentioned any of these problems.

The car still has 3 months of warranty , engine and gearbox.

Thank you in advance

Wow that doesn't sound nice. People have had problems with the vacuum pump think it's joined to the oil pump.

Hi, thanks  benterrier.

I did a little research,  and it really does sound similar to other cars with the same problem. But it's something ignored by Skoda.

My other concern now is the sound during acceleration.  I can't really capture the sound in a video because, it seems that from the outside even with the hood open, there is no sound present while I accelerate in Neutral.

Bump

I don't think there is much anyone can help with other than go to a mechanic that is maybe not in a Skoda Dealership workshop.

They might not be deaf, dumb or biind and able to find the fault if there is one.
