Aux in in limbo

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I've just bought a 2007 L&K estate, and I can't seem to get Aux in to do anything useful 😕

I've gone through the manual (sort of - It's a Stream MP3 and I could only find the one for the Stream) and there's supposed be two menu options for it - I can find the 'Aux on/Aux Off' setting, but no matter what I set it to the 'Aux Volume' option isn't appearing on the screen with all the fader and balance options.

Am i missing something or is it likely to actually be knackered?

What seems odd is that there doesn't seem to be a way to actually select Aux (rather than CD or radio), even in the manual - just some settings for it.

Any help or sympathy gratefully received :)

Cheers!

You switch to Aux input by pressing the CD button on the left of the panel. Pressing this button cycles through the available options: CD (dash-mounted slot) / CD Auto-changer / Aux In....

At the risk of stating the obvious, you also need to have something plugged into the 3.5mm Aux socket (you don't mention this in your question).

I hope I've read this correctly.

ahh, you know what - while i tried pressing the CD button with nothing plugged in, and went through the menus with something plugged in, i don't think I ever tried the CD button again while I had something plugged in...

... yep, i've got it into 'aux in' mode now! (however i'm away for the weekend now and didn't bring my bluetooth dongle so I couldn't actually test playback - i just spoofed it with a pair of headphones - but it's a step further along :D)

Thanks!

Great! Hope that sorts it for you. Enjoy your new Octy 👍

The Stream MP3 which I have in my other Octavia is a later version of the Stream which was in my father's car. They are almost identical, and the only difference that I am aware of is that the newer version will play MP3 CDs in the dash mounted slot, though not in the boot mounted CD changer.

I have tried using the aux in a few times with a selection of phones and players, and it seems to lack volume compared to the CDs and radio.
