New EGR Valve needed

Featured Replies

Hi

The dash light for the exhaust system is showing.

We have done 75k miles in our yeti 2l 2 wheel drive.

My small local garage has said it is showing these codes:  Po121, Po401, Po403

Something on the throttle needs a good clean out and the EGR valve needs replacing i think.

He is happy for me to buy my own and he will fit.  I know him quite well so he looks after me.

So does anybody know what brands i need to be looking at, or where to buy the valve from.

I have been to car parts 4 less and eurocarparts and the Pierbery valve seems to be half decent.  The cheapest i can get it for is £229 on Car P 4 less.

Anyone got any better options ?

What is your engine code and how old is the car?

Its 2013 and my wife is in the car so can't get the engine code, unless i find it in the documents in a file i have.

I have a VIN code.  Is that what you need ?

I have ENGINE: 81025719715955 if that is what you need.

Sorry scrap that.  Its from the car traded in.

This is the engine code for the yeti i think: CFH635322

Has the car had the "Fix"
If yes when and do you have the paperwork for it?

Yes it was fixed in nov 2016.  I took it in.  Seems the wrong thing to have done, but never noticed any difference in performance.

I have been told by skoda it is out of any warranty they supplied (2 yr).

A friend had the the same issue with a Tiguan, had the fix done and it was fine. Then just after two year warranty expired it had loads of issues.

He was so worried about it, that he went and bought a new car. (not a VAG )

So glad that I didn't have fix

Do you have a link to the part on ECP/Carparts4less?

Can anyone comment on what i should be doing to fix this issue ?  I will have to pay and i will use my local guy and buy my own valve.

So i need to clean the throttle pedal section (code PO121)

Then i need to replace the EGR valve or do i clean it ?  Codes po 401 and 403 for this issue.

Does anyone know if we just fixed the throttle pedal issue then the rest will be ok ?  Seems worth trying as it will be cheaper if this solves the issue.   OR do you just bite the bullet and fix everything connected with the codes?

this is the valve.

It's probably going to need one of them and all the associated gaskets and bolts, clean out the throttle valve and modify the intake insert so it can be rotated through 180 degrees.
