VW polo 1.2 Stop/Start malfuntion

Featured Replies

So my daughters 66 plate polo has been throwing up “stop/start malfunction” warnings , so she booked it into a VW dealership.

They get hold of it do some diagnostics and send her a nice video of the air conditioning controls unit removed from the dash, saying this is the problem, we will re-book to replace.

Now up to this everything works fine a/c etc just the warning and no illumination to the ac control buttons but it blew nice cold air etc.

They did the work and she collected the car this morning and after signing the warranty worksheet etc, they take her to her car and show her the new ac controls; they selected ac and no ac?

They do some messing about and turn around and say; no idea why the ac isn’t working; it must be wear and tear!!!

WTF they had a perfectly good car which had fully functioning ac and say that...it is booked to go back in 15th Nov, saying they will check under warranty but think it may not be covered, if it is wear and tear.....where do these people get off.

Told the daughter not to accept any crap, so angry. Will keep you posted on the outcome.

Doea she still have the video of the ac out?

Sorry, got distracted and posted bt acvident.

Id imagine if she does and their diagnostics saying "your ac is causing the issue" followd by work done presumably on the ac to fix the problem and then ac doesnt work... thats entirely blame on them.. wear and tear me eye...

Quick update...

‘They had it back in yesterday, would not accept the aircon not working after they had just installed a brand new HVAC control unit was anything to do with them but they then re-coded it and miraculously it started working!

Pity they didn’t do the job right the first time, would have saved my daughter having to travel 45 mins each way to the dealers, they did do it as warranty.
