EPC light query

Featured Replies

Hi,

New joiner, recently bought a 2010 1.4 petrol fabia 3.   Getting to know the car and have a few queries.   Got some fairly rapid intermittant dull thudding/knocking from the front especially noticable at slow speeds which I think is bush/suspension related. Lower arm bushes don't look damaged or torn, and nothing noticeable when I bounce the car or try wiggling components by hand.  Possibly top mounts since the tops seem to be standing quite proud of the wing.  Working on that.

Noticed that the EPC and engine management lights stay on when I turn on the ignition.  Manual states they should go off after a few seconds?  They go off once I start the car.  Is this normal?   I've got a cheap ODBII reader I use with the Torgue android app, and it reported no error codes - but not sure how well it talks to VAG/Skoda model cars.

Mine also stays on until starting the car, think it’s normal. As long as there is no chime when the lights come on, should be good. There does seem to be a couple of inaccuracies in VAG manuals for some reason.
