Dipstick reading oil level

Is it me only me or do others have difficulty in reading correct oil level on dipstick ?

I presume photo shows acceptable level.

Yes it can be a bit tricky with clean, new oil. And yes, that level is fine, presuming you followed the instructions mentioned above before finally looking at the dipstick.

Oil on the stick is nearly at the MAX level, which is correct, let's say perfect.

 

VW advises checking when oil settles down, but while it is still on working temperature, so it makes sense to check oil level several minutes after engine shut down. I do it after 15 minutes, but doesn't make much difference if you do it after 5-6. If you wait long on a cold weather, then it can change a lot, as oil total volume is very much dependable on the temperature.
