Door locks and runaway diesel all in the same week :(

Featured Replies

What a week haven't been on here for a while had the fab for about 4 years now with no real problems until this week 😭

First of all for some reason the drivers door doesn't lock or unlock unless using the actual key instead of the remote, Which then prompted me to start looking for something newer. Then while looking around showrooms it decides to start smoking and revving its nuts off luckily managed to stall it luckily after having a poke around found the engine oil was massively over the level so it was probably about to runaway before I stalled it

Anybody else had a bad week

The locking might be the wiring in the door loom as they snap very easily. Have a real close look inside both front door bellows. It may also be the battery so if you have a spare key, try that first! Over-filled oil can be very bad for the engine and turbo unit so don't keep it running like that. Drain it to the correct level prior to continuing driving the car.

Does the oil smell of diesel fuel, if you think that the level has risen since you last checked, this could be the oil getting diluted with diesel for which there will be some underlying issue.
