Keyless Entry problem

Featured Replies

My keyless entry works fine to open the car (key on pocket)

But it will not lock again when I exit the car and touch the handle

Spoke to the online Skoda experts

First one told me that it only works to unlock, not to lock

Second one told me there must be a problem, take it to the dealer

It states in the manual that it locks and unlocks

It defeats the whole point of the system if you have to fish out the remote to lock the car all the time

Is anyone else having this issue or no of the solution please?

When locking, you must only touch the small indent shown (B) and no other part of the handle.

Thank you for this,

as you show when just touching the button and not the handle , it locks!

no thanks to the Skoda online team

another thing I found you is if you tap your hand twice when unlocking it will do all doors not just the driver, also works on the passenger side 🙂

Which can be set in the set up screen, to open all doors with just one touch of the handle or by press of the button on remote. As said it’s all covered in the owners manual.

thanks for all the help

I am in Spain so the manual is not in English and my Spanish is not there yet

Have now found an online manual in English!

No matter how I touch, tap, pull and push the handle I can't get it to work on mine and I can't see any small depression on the handle. I'm wondering if mine is a different version of KESSY although that doesn't make sense I know.

I raised a query with my dealers about keyless locking/unlocking not working for me and got the reply:-

"The kamiq does not have the full Kessy system, it only has the keyless stop/start.

This mean you can only open the car with the key fob."

Can anyone with a Kamiq confirm that theirs does in fact work and what spec it is.

According to the pricing and specification document keyless entry is a £215 option on the SEL.

Thanks, that explains that then. Mine was already built and being shipped when I ordered it so no optional extras.

My bad to some extent for not realising that there are different degrees of keylessness 😄

As per the picture in second post, to Unlock, your fingers have to be touching the inside surface of the door handle. Only the inside.

To lock the car, your fingers have to touch the outside of the handle. Only the outside.

You don’t have to precisely touch the spot with one finger. I touch the handle with either my palm, my finger tips or the back of my hand. It all works easily.

Can even be locked or unlocked by someone who is NOT carrying the key if the key carrier is standing close enough to the car.

Enjoy.

You shouldn't have to touch it, in case it has road grime, should be ok to put fingers behind handle to unlock, and put any finger near the square on outside

I think you will also find their might be a sensor near the boot which allows you to unlock to put shopping in, without getting key out of pocket.

Its on my Arona, but don't know if Kamiq also has it when full KESSY is specified
