FL MFSW retrofit to pre-FL

Featured Replies

Hello, I am new to this forum so I apologise in advance for repeating topic. I have read many of topics but haven't found exact situation.

My situationis that I have 2006 Octavia II, which is pre-FL. I decided to retrofit a MFSW and looked for best solution. I found only one variant for a normal price - a mint condition MFSW from a Superb 3T with a wiring loom..

So now i have this wheel fitted with module 1K0953549CH. The current view is in the attachment. Steering angle sensor calibrated, horn works and that would be mostly OK...

But I have some issues - steering wheel buttons don't work properly. Left side works strange - just when I press station change arrow the radio tunes to the same station but doesn't change to other. Right side - works only OK button when I press the roller.

Now I have googled for days for an answer but no results.

CH module coding is 0000732, because I have changed wiper stalk to the buttonless.

Slipring is 1K0959653C which makes me a bit confused because I have one opinion that this type doesn't work with a MFSW. I have ordered a 1K0959653D which possibly arrives tomorrow. Together with a slipring I will put the old wiper stalk with buttons.

Currently there are no faults. MFSW buttons respond thar can be checked in VCDS measuring blocks.

The question is - have anybody sucessfully fitted a FL MFSW to pre-FL vehicle with all buttons working?

Also my steering wheel buttons illuminate only when switched on ignition. Dimming works OK. Could anybody prove that MFSW illumination should work anytime together with dashboard illumination?
