Karoq Advance warning

Featured Replies

A new fault has just reared its ugly head. I am seeing the warning light for 'Advanced warning and Braking' coming up in the dash. It's the one on page 241 of the manual Fig 289.

It comes up out of the blue when I am driving along with no other car in front of me for miles and gives an audible warning as well as a flashing sign in front of me and is most disconcerting as there is no reason for it. It clears itself after a few seconds but on my 100 mile journey yesterday it went off 5 times for no reason. Each time I was alone on the road so why it should go off I don't know. Has anyone else had this problem.

It can be a nuisance. A common “feature “.

Just turn down the sensitivity.

Or just drive in bad weather when the snow, leaves, dirt, etc. cover up the sensor and give you a different message for a change.

As above, you can adjust the sensitivity via the infotainment system.

To answer, yes we have had this problem quite a lot. Most often it happens when approaching a bend, when a militant tree or other inanimate object leaps out in front of us to try try to kill us all! I turned down the sensitivity in the infotainment  system to 'late'. It's a feature of VAG cars that it seems overly sensitive, I had a hired SEAT Tarraco which did a no reason emergency stop in the outside lane of the motorway because of it!

Thanks Guys

I will try that but it still seems crazy that it can happen on a straight road with no other vehicles in view.

It was probably a suicidal leaf..... 😋
