Automatic Emergency Braking

Featured Replies

Just experienced this for the first time today in SWMBO Picanto3. A car in front banged on the brakes and turned. It was sharp and caused exclamations (to be mild) from the passengers. Impressed by its efficiency- but alarmed.

Yeah it happened to me a couple of weeks ago. The car had faster reactions than me, I must be getting old😂 Nice to know it works though 👍

My S3 gives it large with the brakes when parking in an overgrown lay-by type parallel bay I use often - not sure if it's the slightly higher kerb, or the overgrowth (of undergrowth...) but whatever the cause the car stops sharpish, the maxidot insists I apply brakes to continue - counter intuitive to stop to allow a start (well windows users might expect stop to go..?) it works 'well' I guess but neither kerb or plants are any risk - undergrowth might create swirls/streaks/marring that (only) a detailer might spot 😉

I've had this on a few cars but never actually experienced it working.

The mini JCW has auto cruise and it on occasion will pick up a fasle positive for a car in the lane in front. If the CC it just makes a disturbing bong and flashes a red warning.

If the CC is on it whacks on the brakes, tbh I think it's a bad failing. Nothing in front of me and I'm doing 70 in the outside lane when suddenly the car stamps on the brakes. Luckily there was no one behind me.

It's only happened once but makes me way of radar cruise.

There’s a humpback bridge near me that confuses the life out of my bears automatic brakes. Has to be approached at 20 mph otherwise I get the car slamming them on.
