2018 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate - Start Stop Button

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement start stop button my 2018 Octavia or if dealer price sounds about right.

Have looked online and can't find anything. Local dealer has quoted £150 plus VAT which seems steep for button cover.

Start stop still works when pushed etc just cover is damaged.

Any advice appreciated.

Warranty surely? My Dad’s Ibiza had a failure of the lock button and they replaced the whole switch pack under warranty. Failing that, the button pack is £48 new from the dealer so why they are quoting that is a mystery. The part number is 5E2927132G and they are available on eBay for about £15. Indeed, I may have mine for sale in the next week or so as I’m likely upgrading to the H version with the TPMS SET button. The top row unclips from the bottom row, in fact I have changed these with no tools before today and in just 10-15 mins. Tell the dealer to do one.

Ahhh, the KESSY start button. Sorry, I thought you meant the Auto Start/Stop button. Either way, used but good condition KESSY start buttons are on eBay for about the £25 mark. Part number is 5E0905217WHS.

Sorry wasn't sure exact name for part. Maybe dealer is also thinking of different part as I explained it over phone. Do you know how I can find them on eBay via part number as only getting results showing keys?

Search the part number without the WHS and you’ll see this

Perfect thanks. Are these simple to fit

Yes, remove the steering cowling and the button is clipped in place and there is one plug to change over.

Thanks. I have absolutely zero experience in changing car parts but assuming I could give part to my local garage (not Skoda) who would change it for me for alot less than dealer

Couldn’t say, it’s a very easy DIY swap if you have some basic tools and some patience. No tools needed to remove it.
