VRS Petrol - mileage of 1st variable service?

Featured Replies

Hi,

At what mileage would you be expecting a VRS Petrol on variable mileage servicing to be asking for its first oil change?

Thanks

Mine is shouting at me it needs an oil change in 1,200 miles, which would make a total of 5,000 miles since I had....a new engine fitted 😢 Which doesn’t seem right.

Looking back, I’ve had between 9,500 and 16,000 previously.

Skoda UK advise that when a new engine is fitted that the owner keeps to servicing as the original schedule.

So like when a 35,000 mile Twincharger got a new engine with new spark plugs then at 40,000 miles it would need an oil and filter  change and new spark plugs,

which is ridiculous.

So your technician never set the Service Interval when fitting the new engine.  Maybe use your common sense and change the oil and filter & treat the new engine.

Or service the car and do not service the engine, then reset and for the next time have it on Fixed first time so after 10,000 (9,600) miles / 12 months.

Then a year after service and go to Variable if you want.  Or stick to Fixed servicing.
