Hit a deer at the front driver's side, wooshing noise when coming on boost?

Featured Replies

Unfortunately I hit a deer a few nights ago, hit the front left going around 50mph. Only visible damage was a smashed headlight and a cracked bumper. But theres an odd woosh when it comes on boost.

I've had the bumper off and checked for loose/cracked pipes and hoses but theres nothing I can see or hear.

Anything I need to check for?

The intercooler is under there. It's pressed metal and plastic. Pics here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MK2-SKODA-FABIA-1-9-TDI-INTERCOOLER-PIPES-99-07-6Q0145804/174204193278?fits=Car+Make%3ASkoda|Model%3AFabia&hash=item288f6109fe:g:gUQAAOSwO8xeV-Ep

It's possible the ducting for the intercooler has bashed it. It's also possible any of the pipework joints have semi-sprung apart or the plastic pipes cracked. If there's a massive hole though, you'd know about it. Apocalyptic clouds of black smoke and limp mode would be the clues for that.
