2012 yeti 1.2 developed gear box noise about 1 and half years ago, still going strong though after a very hard life. Anybody else with same problem. Buying a Karok now but interrupted by strict lock down here in Spain

You don't say if it's in any particular gear, whether under load or not, what revs it's worse at, whether its a chatter or whine, if it does it in neutral etc.

..or if its manual or auto?

It is manual  , it is a very light grinding / whirring noise in all gears that  stops when coasting out of gear. A mechanic has confirmed it is in the gear box. Not particularly worse in any gear.

You want to hope its not the diaphragm fingers breaking up, they will eventually wear thru the gearbox so as well as a pressure plate you'll need a new gearbox.

 

I thought it was likely to be that issue as well. Car is of right age to have the defective part fitted.

I would have thought that if it was the clutch fingers then the sound would still be there whether the car was in gear or not as the clutch would still be rotating with the engine but I could be wrong.
