Hello From Glasgow

Featured Replies

After a month of research and what feels like the hardest choice I’ve ever made. I’ve decided to buy a Mk2 Superb to replace my VW Caddy Maxi. We have a new baby in the house and it’s no longer practical. Hoping to pick up some sound advice and stories prior to the lifting of lockdown, so I can make the right choice.

Cheers Craig

Hello Craig 👋

My first Skoda was a Mk1 Superb.  Saloon though - notice you're going down the Estate route.  Mine was a fabulous car, and brought me here.  Thoroughly enjoyed owning it, bought mainly for the room, which was pretty class leading and suited us nicely.  I still miss it.

Happy Superb hunting, when circumstances allow.

Superbs are great cars for the money. Owned a 2005 Mk1 Elegance, 2009 Mk2 SE, 2012 Elegance and facelift Mk2 Elegance in 2014. 2016 bought a petrol 1.4TSI SE and now own a 2019 Mk3 2.0TSi which is more economical than the 2005 1.9TDi despite having 360bhp compared to my first diesel 130bhp auto. Cheers Gents,

I’m actually talking to a dealer just now, 2012 low mileage elegance, unfortunately it’s the 140, would’ve preferred the 170, but all in it’s a tidy car.

All three of my Mk2 Superbs had the 140PS diesel and it's got enough power and there is also the option of a cheeky remap to take it to about 180bhp. Best I got was about 64mpg on a run and remember driving around Scotland getting 475 miles on three quarters of a tank (think it has either 60 or 62 litre fuel tank.
