Heater matrix pipes pd130

Hey folks

Would love some advice on this problem. A well known problem for sure

Fairly sure the matrix is fine. Had it out and filled with water, no leaks. mock fitted the pipes to matrix out of the car and struggled to believe it would seal

have got new o-rings to go on the pipes as it was leaking and old o-rings were ****ed. struggling to seal the pipes back without a leak.

The holding plate that allen bolt goes through doesn't seem to press hard enough on the pipe to keep it in solid Have tried putting seals on pipes and setting inside matrix first. Have used red rubber grease to help them going in. Also had to use a little bit of wood to stop the matrix itself moving in it's housing when shoving the pipes in

the nearside of the two pipes has a slight bend/wear where the holding plate should press, consequently it's not pressing! have tried using a plastic shim to help it press against the pipe and it's  slowed leak but still no good

Have seen some other threads where people use a connector from a different fabia, may end up doing that if i can get the part (think it is this PN.  6Q0121065H  or             6Q0121065H)

i might also try using a thicker shim between pipe and holding plate. Is there any other easy fixes using what i have?
