my daughter’s car’s temp gauge has stopped working. Does anyone happen to know where it is? Google is split between it being in either of the mirrors, or in the front bumper?

although to be fair I didn’t mention the year. It’s a 2011 so mk2. 

On checking ebay to get the part it seems to be on the door mirror, and the various Ford forums seem to confirm that.

All the wing mirror references seem to be for the Focus? I’ll have a dig next week.

It should be easy to check, the sensor protrudes externally on the underside of the passenger side mirror housing.

 

Here is a replacement mirror with the hole where the sensor would fit...

 

 

If you don't have the hole / sensor then I suspect that on Ka's without electrically adjustable mirrors (i.e. no need for a power supply) then it'll be in the front bumper on the lower spec models?

Thanks for that. I've had a look and there's just a hole there. i guess the mirror was replaced and they didnt replace the sensor?

I suspect so, it's probably a common occurrence.

 

Daughter smashes multiple wing mirrors off, the temperature sensor making replacements expensive.

 

Or a replacement mirror is ordered online, and the fact they house the temperature sensor isn't noticed until after it arrives.
