I'm looking to get my son a new ICE (radio) headunit. He's got a 2006 Skoda Fabia 1 HTP Ambiente 1.2

The present one (Symphony) seems to be a 1.5 DIN. (3" tall) with a 1 DIN (2") tray beneath it. So the fascia seems to have a gap capable to taking 3.5 DIN.

I'd like to get him a unit with GPS and hands-free, but they all seems to be 2 (double) DIN. I believe  I'd need a double DIN 'cage' for the headunit,  but he'd still have a 1/2 DIN (1") gap.

So what do I need to get him to fit a double DIN headunit yet avoid a gap?

Anyone  - any advice?

Unfortunately 6Y0857231 was discontinued a few years ago so if you can find one they are usually very expensive for a piece of plastic trim!
