Changes at DriveTheDeal?

Featured Replies

IMO one of the very best broker sites for up to date information and prices is DriveTheDeal, I've used them a few times to purchase a car but often use them to gauge what discount to negotaite at local dealer.

Over the past few years there has been less choice of manufacturer but as far as we're concerned, VW Group have always been available, until now. It looks like Skoda has disappeared over the last few days. ( Audi, VW and SEAT remain ) I've seen some manufacturer / models disappear for 24hr whilst the system updates changes in models or prices but never this long.

Does anyone know of another broker website that provides live output / allows you to spec all options / gives decent discounts?  The beauty of DriveTheDeal was it always gave you two prices - one for cash and another for PCP based on the current manufacturer offers. i.e. Their 'Extra Information' page was often much clearer than information supplied by the manufacturer.

I do a lot of my "what if" car browsing on carwow

I used carwow to get prices when I bought the Karoq in December but I wasn't sure if the request went thru to dealership and then someone physically replied with a price or the prices were pre-set. No problem if it's set prices but if it's taking someone's time to reply then I label that as being a tyre-kicker rather than research.

For example I couldn't really compare whether it was worth paying the extra for an Edition over the SE-L without having to submit two quotes then wait on receiving all the replies ( which seemed to take a few days ). And then it doesn't give prices for various options etc.

Often the RRP is more for a diesel than a petrol but there may be some special offer on diesel so that's the engine I'd choose. But the only way of finding out that infor is submitting numerous requests.

Think Carwow works if you know exactly what you're after but if your like me, flexible and just looking to see what's a good deal, Carwow doesn't work for me.

Fair enough

in Carwow if you do submit some sort of request, either with or without options, often the dealers which respond will also have a link to "currently available" cars which might not meet your exact request you put in, but could end up being an acceptable compromise.

but yes, in terms of trying to trade off one set of "specifications" against another, carwow isn't that great.

I've had great service from discounted-new-cars.com - my 2020 Octavia SE Drive is dying to have a proper run - just 1000 miles on the clock!

Steve and Howard have been there for years and are very approachable - sales or leasing.  I got over 5K off the list price this time round. Give them a ring.
