Steering wheel wear

Featured Replies

Has anybody successfully claimed on warranty for a steering wheel wear problem? Car only has 12,000 miles I wouldn’t expect this to be showing.

have emailed the dealer and they say it is consistent with age and mileage, I disagree.
thoughts?

also it’s not dirt.

Just asking the obvious.

?

Does the driver have a ring or rings on the left hand, and is there wear on the right side of the wheel and any rings on that hand?

I’ve only had the car two weeks so no idea on history. Also the wear is at the 6 o clock position at bottom of wheel, not somewhere I would expect to see wear (usually 10+2).

I hate to think what was done that caused that then, the mind boggles.

Dealership staff might have more of an idea....

I have emailed a picture to the dealer and this was their response:

So I have asked skoda UK for their thoughts.

Best guess,  driven by a person that wore a kilt and sporran.

So a Bagpipers daily drive.

Looks about right for a cheap vinyl wheel. Good excuse to swap it for a Skoda leather one.
