replacing key battery

Featured Replies

The battery in one of my keys has died, but I can't figure out how to replace it. My manual shows a different key to the one I have. It shows a key that folds in - mine is just fixed in a small, roundish piece of plastic.

There is a wee groove just below the badge that looks like where you would prise it open, but have tried and no joy. Also don't want to to force it in case I knacker the key. Couldn't find any online videos that feature this particular key.

Any help appreciated.

You're right, flip the key open and there is a groove, if you've got a good grip you can actually just pull them apart. Once they're seperated, look at the front of housing and you'll see a rubber gasket, simply put something in there gently and twist it open. Again, you can use your hands it it will open.

If your key is non remote type, this might help you, I presume your car may be pre year 2000?.

(My car is an '03, some of them must have come with older style keys.)
