Rear seatbelt buckle (single)

Featured Replies

Hi all, the rear (single / not twin) seat belt buckle / release is faulty in my mk2 Octy, the buckle goes in but it doesn't lock in place.

Went to remove it and it appears to be joined to the middle seatbelt itself which goes into the rear seat backing at the top, looking like the whole middle seat belt has to be changed along with the single buckle. Does anyone know if the buckle can be separated from the belt so I can fit a replacement buckle without having to change the whole rear seat backing? Or can I get a hold of another seat belt buckle to use as a donor for bits to repair my own?

Thanks in advance.

Kev

Try a good squirt of WD-40/sharp hits with the sole of a running shoe or similar to free the mechanism.

Ensure it locks securely and releases 100% before returning to service

Thanks for the reply. I removed the plastic casing and I'm quite sure something has broken. Looks like I'll need to either repair or replace, just need to know if it can be repaired in place with a donor buckle or if t

I'll need to remove/ replace along with the rear seat backing.

Cheers
