Columbus Sat Nav update

Featured Replies

Perhaps someone can help with the following?...I have a columbus media/satnav unit currently running on HW version H61 and software version 3984 delivery part no 3T0035680E.

I have tried to update it with a DVD purchased online but this did not work as it would not load onto the HDD.

Another supplier says I therefore need an SD card for the update but before trying that just wanted to see if anybody else has had this issue and been able to sort it without a costly main dealer intervention?

I'd like to hazard a guess at the seller, but I fail to see why I should advertise for him given I fix so many of his problems lately.

I offer a service & repair for members here. Most likely it'll need a laser clean, a Hard Drive format, asoftware reinstall and a maps reload. Drop me a message if you want any more info.

Tks for the reply and input. Fyi when the first disc they sent me didnt work he advised me to get a laser cleaning disc which I subsequently invested in and used  ..  all to no avail. They then sent me a replacement disc which would not work in spite of clean.

Having threatened a crap review online they have since refunded me so financially that's fine but I still have a satnav that needs updating. Would welcome any further info and advice.cheers Phil

£45 gets you the laser cleaned properly, the software updated, and the maps reinstalled. Plus postage to me or drive up if you're close to North Yorks.

Hi again....happy with the quote .. however I'm a long way from you down in devon ....does that mean i would need to post the whole unit to you or do you post the various elements down to me?

You'll need to post it to me, turnaround is a day or so then I post it back to you.
