FL MY2021 Lane Assist Coding Possible?

Featured Replies

I've trawled through the forum and several other places, but i'm unable to ascertain whether ALA coding is possible on the FL model.

Has anyone had any joy with this?

Have you got the a5 camera in the windscreen?

Looking here

I think yes, if its sel or above (a5 Camera).

I'm toying with the idea too...

Didn’t quite work.. ALA unavailable.

On my old car (Audi A4) you had to soft rest the MMI by holding buttons down to make codings activate.

is there anything like this I need to do?

Not that I'm aware of. What's does the autoscan show, before and after

I see that you're using obdeleven which is known to cause coding errors. If you have access to vcds genuine, you might be better off eliminating coding vs obdeleven issues

I did it on the FL Superb, coding listed there wasn’t quite accurate, in 44 I needed to code Byte 0 Bit 3 and then do a full shut down and rescan of everything and clear all the errors in the relevant controllers. Worked perfectly.

Instead of Byte 3 Bit 0 or including?

Instead of. On long coding with the long coding helper it shows Lane Assist as that Bit.

Pleased to report ALA fully operational owed to some good advice.

Thank you Sasha!

Would be good if you did an updated write up so it could be added to the adaptations post for the superb

I’ve got the lane assist menus on the MMI but not on VC.. should I?

Is there an additional coding/adaptation required to add ALA to the assists menu in VC?

I've found the solution should anyone have the same problem.

I added STG17: Lane Retention Assistant BAP Distance

              STGA5: Lane_assistant_off_text

Can somebody enlighten me as to whether I can add advanced lane assist to my MY21 iV L and K

It has lane assist as standard i.e it will vibrate the wheel as a warning if the car drifts to the line without the indicator on.

What I want and though I could add was advanced lane assist which is part of the travel assist package option on the MY21. ie car steers itself between the road lines for a period of time.

My car was ordered back in February and I added TSR which gives me predictive cruise control. At the time I don't recall travel assist being an option.

Its a £190 option on the iV which leads to to think it may not need any extra hardware from the factory...just coding.

The process we’ve discussed adds Active Lane Assist and Active Lane Guidance.

You get both the warnings and the steering corrections

All (Once coded) selectable/de-selectable from the MMI.

Plus you have the ability to turn off the system from the VC.

Apologies but I have now got it working. Just back from a spin to test it. I was over-complcating things. It seems as lane assist was already active all I had to do was change one setting. That was the 'point of intervention' setting changed from late to 'early setting via menu'. I now get adaptive lane guidance on the Columbus.  Do I now get traffic jam assistance as a by product of this?

When you say turn off VC do you mean via the steering wheel buttons as still not in the assist options on the VC menu.

I’m afraid I can’t comment on the Traffic Jam Assistance as I don’t have TSR on mine (Not an OBD11 job to code)

Did you do the additional 2 steps I mentioned in the PM?

adding those enabled the ‘Lane Assist’ checkbox on my VC (Accessed via the assists button on the steering wheel)

No I didn't apply the adaptations you suggested. I already had a Lane Assist tick box on the VC assist menu.

You can check if you have tja by putting ACC on below 40mph and see if it picks up the lanes

I followed the above and now have the adaptive lane guidance option but when I press it nothing happens. I can’t turn it into an “on” state. Normal lane guidance works fine and came with the car

Any advice would be great!

It seems I have added ALG to my car but this has not automatically enabled TJA. The coloured lanes graphic greys out when my speed drops to below about 40mph.

With ALG set active on a motorway I noticed a slight tendancy for the car to meander a little and not stay dead centre in the lane. I assume this is normal behavior.

Has anyone been able to enable TJA with obdeleven?

That is not my experience on the motorway. I can see the car doing minute adjustments being centre of the lane. If it doesn't pick up the lines or the lines have disappeared, its a different story. The meandering you speak of use to happen when i didn't have the Active / Adaptive part on.

You can activate TJA as well. The only difference between the two is one enables it to work for speeds below 40mph but ONLY if ACC is on.
