emetic window problem skoda fabia mk2

Featured Replies

Hi,

the windows go up and down using the key trick - turning the key in the door lock 'open' for 3 seconds  and the windows open and turning the key closed for 3 seconds makes the windows close.

using the window switches in the door they sometimes work but vey rarely.

I've checked the fuses and they're fine.

How should i proceed in diagnosing the problem?

Check inside the door grommet / bellows between the door and A pillar, broken wires in there is a very common issue and causes all sorts of varying issues with windows and mirrors

thanks, i also have an issue with the central locking. If i unlock the car with the remote it only unlocks the driver door. all other doors have to be opened from inside the car.

Sometimes, very rarely, it is possible to open the doors from outside.

Could this be linked to the previously mentioned problem?

yes

Wires are usually the first thing to need checking as they often snap inside the door wiring loom.
