From memory, ETKA is only a parts catalogue whereas ETOS is a whole ordering system, as well as a parts catalogue.

So what does 'the whole ordering system' mean to someone like me i.e. average car owner.

Nothing - unless you hack into the VAG electronic ordering system, I think the ordering side will be pretty useless. You can still compile your shopping list and print it out May look a bit suspicious to the dealer though :P

The ordering side it usually set up with a dealer as ETOS is quite often used by non franshised specialists.

Also ETOS covers all four brands.

VAG doesnt have specific ordering system, Aud + VW have the same system, SEAT and Skoda have thier own but all order to the same depo in the midlands.

I think the ETOS is a version of ETKA that allows different screen resolutions to be used as there is a marked difference in screen res. on some laptops when compared with desktops.

Thats why I've got ETOS on my laptop as the ETKA version would not install because of the wrong screen res.

It is now called F1 proposal on Etka. Meaning it is almost right but it is still best not to rely on it and confirm F1 choice through chassis no, build date etc.

It's pretty good but there are still some mistakes in the system. If you pick the wrong thing on F1 now, Skoda will wash their hands of it because in their view it is not to be trusted 100%.

The requirements for ETKA are 1280x1024 screen resolution...

The friend of mine has given up on it and uses ETOS instead - his version is more up to date too
