After my first car that I bought for scrapes from my granny, which was (and still is) a sturdy and spacious Honda Civic VII, I have finally gathered enough resources to buy a car of my (and my wife's) choosing. I thought it would be the latest generation of Civic but then I saw an Octavia and immidiately new I want this car. So for couple of months already I'm a happy owner of 2015 Mk III with 1.4 petrol unit and a DSG gearbox. I have finally dealt with check engine error and I'm ready to start a journey of adapting my car to my needs and fantasies. First one, after automatic rear hatch opening, is to make use of those blank buttons above gear lever.

I hope we will get along!

Hi. I know there's a 'considering buying' forum but this is about an oldie so I thought this may be a better place to post...(a query for the long committed fans?)? I already have a 2005 Octavia Estate (1.9TDI PD105) and it is by a country mile the BEST car I have EVER owned. I bought it in 2013 for <£2.5k and apart from needing to do the clutch straight away it hasn't needed much over the 80k miles I've done in it since. However it is close to 180k miles now, the clutch is juddering and

I guess this is a common problem with the steering wheel and the silver trim piece at the bottom. Has anyone managed to find this replacement part (on AliExpress, Temu, or anywhere else)? A new one costs over €120 (https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/5e3419671vkh-steering-wheel-cover-skoda-46861.html), which seems absurdly expensive for what it is. I've seen that some people repaint it, wrap it with vinyl, or use other fixes, but I'd really prefer to find a brand-new replacement part at a rea

So had both rear control arms replaced as the bolt was seized so I couldnt get the tracking done..now the tracking place say they can't get the camber inside spec because there is no adjustment for that and it will be OK as toe is good now.. Have attached the results.. Is the camber adjustment not this bolt in the pic..(which stands a chance is seized aswell)

Neigbour with a Fabia Mk4 called me recently, his drivers door and the rear (right) passenger doors were partly open with what looked like a stainless steel rod jamming the two doors in their partly open/closed positions, to make a long story short, it was the door umbrella that apparently had shot out somehow or other and jammed the two doors, he had partially opened the back door to let his dog out I think and had let his own door partially open, or something like that.
