Noise when starting the engine

I am facing a strange noise when starting the engine lately. And it seems to appear when ever the car cools down. 

 

Check attached video.

Sounds like a lazy starter.

As above, quite common. All my VRS’s have done this.

It’s a lazy starter motor as far I can remember, it continues to spin even after the car is started and that’s why it does that noise. I just live with mine but I would think that a new starter motor would be in order.

A question off the topic. What is the switch behind the clutch pedal for? 

My car crank and starts without the need to press the pedal. Its Manual transmission, too.

The engine management uses it for a few reasons, one of them being cruise control,
