Hi guys. I asked the Skoda dealer to hardwire my old dashcam. Problem is every time car restarts the dashcam restarts. Been back to the dealer and there is no fuse that doesn’t do this. Would a new cam likely solve the issue? Thanks. 

I use a Nextbase 522GW in my MY20 Scala with the Nextbase hardwire kit using a piggy-back fuse - think it is going off the rear wiper fuse. It seems to work as intended and the camera stays on when the start-stop system kicks in.  The camera does have a small internal battery but the charging / power light does stay on when start-stop has switched the engine off so it is still getting power. 

 

I would suggest challenging the dealer on their installation as they sound like they've got their wires crossed, (no pun intended) :-)
