Hello from New Zealand

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. Just joined from Wellington, Aotearoa/New Zealand.

I recently bought a one owner 2016 Siperb MkIII, the 206kw, AWD version - it's our top of the line, seems to be a wee notch under L&K trim. 19" wheels, leather, Canton sound system, etc. Generally speaking, so far so good, it's a nice car. Drove over a windy hill/mountain pass on the weekend, sport mode impressed. Mostly though I potter about in Eco.

There are a handful of things puzzling me which I'll pop into the "correct" forums when I find them ...

1) I want to load up the jukebox as I have many CDs ... I want CD quality audio (lossless) but I'm not at all au fait with what sort or size of memory stick I'll need and just generally speaking the process. If anyone knows of a good guide that would be awesome

2) Whilst farting about with the steering wheel inputs I accidentally turned on lane assist. What an awful thing! I drive apexes and at first I thought I had a flat tire so stopped to look. Then assumed the road had tyre indentations in it that the car was tracking. It was ghastly. About 100 kilometers later I was playing it back in my mind, had a good look at the settings and realised what I'd done. Now turned off. Man that sucks.

3) I seem to have been caught out on the 5 year service plan ... prior owner got a service done late ... so it seems now I'll miss out on service #5 ... bit sucky. Be nice to know if anyone else has convinced Skoda to come to the party.

Otherwise, all is well in NZ and I'm liking the car.

cheers Don

Welcome!

Does the infotainment rip the CDs into the jukebox itself or can you load your digitised files from a USB stick?

If the former, what format does it rip (I'd bet MP3 which isn't lossless)?

Hi @PetrolDave.

Unfortunately you/I can't rip a CD from the CD player (in glovebox) to the Jukebox. The CDs are not recognised - copy protected perhaps? You have to go through the palaver of ripping the CD onto some other media (the manual says SD card ... but perhaps USB might work as you suggest). I could I suppose experiment with how etc. but would rather pass go immediately by viewing a suitable guide. Hence my question. Especially what format to rip to.

cheers D

My Octavia has an Amundsen not a Columbus so I don't have a jukebox and will have to let someone with more expertise than me answer what formats are recognised and how to load them onto the jukebox.
