Bailey DV30

Featured Replies

Can you hear this dump valve, or is it silent.

I heard a dump valve on a seat l/c/r once, it sounded great. It wasnt the normal tsscchhh you get with escort turbos and things, it was more like a loudish flutter.

Any ideas what this was, I want a dump valve, but not too loud.

(or am i just being picky)

Cheers.

If you want to hear the DV, you are best to invest in a cold air intake. The DV's are closed circuit, so don't vent to air like the ones most people know from cossies, etc.

i run a DV30 on my vRS with a jabbaSport induction kit... its mistaken for an atmos valve all the time.

with a green panel filter in the standard airbox you can hear it but for the full fat effect you need a CAI or induction kit.

Loud flutter = standard DV on the LCR. The Standard DV on my Octavia did it too.

With practice, you can do it with a Bailey on part throttle/partial boost.

I would say a loud fluttering sounds like venting through the waste gate...bad.

DV30 is typically no loud with standard airbox....as been said already CAI is the way to go for louder "psstsh".

i can make mine kind of flutter but thats by partially releasing the throttle when accelerating in certain gears... it realeases the boost but not in one big psstt..

agreed that the above sounds move like waste gate or back pressure on the turbo = not good at all.

Cheers for the info. I really want to put a cai on, but I put one on my old car( a BMW 318ti compact) And it made it very juicey. How does it affect the mpg on the octy.

Cheers

Shouldnt make any difference.

made no difference to mine although abviously the MGP will decrease slightly... only because you'll be heavier with your right foot so you can hear the extra noise !

still get 30-32mpg round town in my vRS when driven sensibly and 34-38mpg on long motorway runs.

have seen 40+mpg on 50-60mph cruises in the country.
