Entertainment system

Featured Replies

The entertainment system is blank but has 'software download- soutce activated, searching for SWL Image'

Shows this all the time, even when the car is switched off and doors locked. Can anyone help me please?

If you have a columbus unit with the push buttons, hold down both the twist knobs together for around 30 seconds to perform a hard reset of the system. May or may not solve the problem but worth a try.

Thanks Dan, tried but unfortunately no joy. Thank you all the same, certainly worth the try

Are you sure you have a MK3 Superb?

I only ask as 2064 ('64 plate?) could be a MK2 FL and that error feels like you have a RNS-510 style Columbus rather than the MIB style headunits found in the MK3.

Example MK2 FL:

Example MK3:

Example of a RNS-510 style Columbus which is what I think you have:

Hi, yes in that case l have the mk11.

Thank you for the correction. Do you know if there is a 'cure' for my cars ailment please?

Our resident expert on these units is @Rustynuts

Hopefully he'll be along soon 😉

if you're lucky, it'll be recoverable using a firmware update CD. You might need to check the part number of the radio to get the right one.
