Octavia Mk 2 How to remove boot carpet.

Featured Replies

Hi Mk 2 owners

After heavy continuous rain and flooded roads, found boot well i/2 full of water - spare wheel cover and carpet soaked.  After removing the pond from the boot and dried out the well, I now need to remove soggy carpet.

Removed the securing pin caps in boot and under rear seat backs.  However, the fitted carpet will not pull free from under the seat back; it feels trapped.

Does anyone happen to know if the rear seat backs/cushions also have to be removed.  If I am unable to take out the fitted carpet then I guess that I will use a heater to dry out with carpet still in place; so much water has caused the 'cardboard' support floor is badly warped.

Sorry if anyone has had the same experiences but you may solve my problem.  Any advice most welcome.

All best wishes

Lojong
