Alternator belt length

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I'm due to change my timing belt in my 2016 Superb with the CRLB engine (150TDI with DSG), so I'm going to do the alternator belt whilst I'm at it, as I need to remove it anyway.  There is a 1025mm and a 1028mm belt option for my car.  Is there an easy way of knowing which is fitted to the car without taking the wheel off, wheel arch liner out and trying to get the code off the belt?

Thanks in advance.

Went out to the car for another look.  For anyone else who's trying to work this out, shine a torch down the side of the engine and if you've stopped the engine in just the right place, you'll be able to see the code on the belt.  In my case, it 04L 260 849 C so it's the 1025mm belt.
