Brake warning beeps 3 times then flashes

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've recently got a problem with my skoda, where the brake warning light goes on with 3 beeps, then keeps flashing until the car is restarted.

Yes, I did try searching and found some threads with the same problem, but none really had any fix for it as far as I could tell.

Backstory, the ABS (and ESP) light went on due to a faulty ABS module (99% sure, I can't communicate with it with my generic VAG OBD2-reader, not VCDS), so it doesn't come on together with the brake warning, it has been on for a good 6 months or so. The brake warning light just came on, after a full wheel alignment, which was done due to changing both rear control arms together with springs and dampers. As far as I know, the alignment (and the control arm, spring and damper change) should not have anything to do with the brake warning light, right?

I checked the brake fluid reservoir, and it sits at max. If I screw of the cap I can clearly see fluid at the top (almost too much ).

The breaks work as before, no problem even with the warning on.

I didn't drive the car for 2 weeks until last weekend, where I drove 70km after replacing the control arms, springs and dampers, without any brake warning light. I drove to the shop, did the alignment, and on my way back the brake warning light came on for the first time.

The handbrake is not active.

Here's a video when the brake warning light goes on

Also, the warning only comes on when driving 100 km/h or above, not when cruising around in the city or aggressively accelerating, only the highway where I can maintain a constant high speed.

You need to scan the car with a good diagnostic tool to find out what the car is detecting.
