Complete Audio Refit- Oct 1998 GLX

Featured Replies

Heya.

Recently purchased a 1998 GLX, and i want to refit a new set of speakers & possibly wire around the car, since it doesn't come with a rear speakers, and the fronts seem really poor, althought that could be the current head unit.

I've got a new sony hu to go in, so i may forgo the fronts until that's in, but the lack of rears is painful!

What's do people recommend as a set of rears? I'm not looking to spend a fortune (<£100 for fronts, rears, and wire) , and i'm happy to use the existing speaker grills...

Edit: Music Style: Indie, Punk, Metal

I'm currently looking into a carputer and a hands free kit which will also be installed in ~ 2 months time..

Cheers in advance,

Wolfsbane2k

For the cable I would recommend something like this, or a bi wire version then split the wires. It's flat so it will run under the carpet very easily and unobtrusively.

The speakers, Pioneer do some that fit into the standard speaker places without any cutting, see this thread on it:

Depending on wether you want 2 ways, or componenet speakers with seperate tweaters defines your costs but you should be able to do that for about £100 plus minus a crimping tool, which is pretty essential anyway if you don't already have one.

Hope that helps
