Does anyone know how to replace the power scource (cig lighter) on a 59 plate Octavia estate?

Hi MicMac it’s all corroded inside the car has been quite damp inside with not getting a lot of use!!

If it can't be saved just remove its associated fuse and lever it out.

 

You can then source a replacement, fit and replace the fuse when done.

I cannot guarantee it's not retained by a clip, I was assuming it was a simple push/click fit.

 

Perhaps pulling the gearstick gator will allow access to the underside, I forget if it necessitates the ashtray removed first.

I’ll let you know when I’ve done it fingers crossed it’ll pop out easily 🤞

If you want to access behind it then remove the ashtray/storage stray, remove the gearstick surround (just pull it up). Then remove the two torx screws to remove the ashtray assembly completely. Then if you look behind there there's two torx screws. Remove which ever side you want to access from. Then in the foot well on the side trim there is a torx at the front. Remove that and you can then remove the side trim.
