Amundsen navigation screen blanks and locks

Featured Replies

There have been posts before about the Amundsen navigation screen blanking and locking, but I've been unable to find them.

Recently when using the Amundsen navigation system on my Kamiq SEL, the central route display blanked out and came up with just a clock.  A message also flashed up about sharing my location to which I replied OK.

I found I could still get the small route display on the dash display in front of me but without sound but that the main display just remained black with a clock in the centre, which we could change for another clock!   All attempts to get the home screen up or the radio or navigation or other screens on the central display failed.

At our destination, after turning the ignition off and then on again and pressing the on/off icon on the central display, the route display reappeared, complete with sound,

Can anyone explain this, please?

Software glitch?

I've had several strange behaviours from the MIB1 Amundsen in our Octavia:

1) several occasions when navigation sits forever displaying "starting" message. Rebooting (long press on power button) has restored it every time (so far).

2) one occasion when instead of muting the radio when making a navigation announcement it turned the radio up to max volume (which made me jump!) and then tried to talk over it. Neither rebooting nor ignition off/on corrected it, only leaving the car overnight got it working normally again.
